BareMinerals Liquid Lipcolor Review | Swatches

I recently purchased a couple Bare Minerals Gen Nude Liquid Lipcolors at Ulta as they had a sale going on for $13 (it’s no longer going on, unfortunately)! Usually these products are $18 for 0.13 oz. of product (which isn’t too bad for a prestige brand), but still not very affordable when there are other drug store brands coming out with amazing lip products. Anyway, when I saw this deal going on I had to get a few colors; mostly more on the nude side, cause those are my fav.

Details, according to Ulta’s website:

“Long-wearing, moisturizing, full-coverage cream-to-matte color in a range of statement-making nude shades for all skin tones.
When it comes to the nude lip, there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all color. Meet the next generation of nude.
Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor is long-wearing, cream-to-matte color with a lightweight, no-tack texture. Formulated with moisturizing ingredients to counteract dryness, this matte liquid glides on silky smooth with a subtle vanilla scent.
The flexible paddle applicator delivers full coverage in one sweep. For best results, wait 10 minutes before eating or drinking to allow the color to set.”

I like the packaging, it’s simple and you can see the color of the lipstick on the bottle, which is nice. I also like the applicator as it’s easy to use.

I have to say, the claims for this liquid lip product are pretty on point! The product is definitely full coverage, it isn’t opaque at all and you don’t have to worry about adding a second layer as one application is usually enough. I’ve found that the five colors I have are pretty consistent with each other, even though one is a lot darker than the others and one is a lot lighter.

It’s a creamy matte finish, which is my favorite type of liquid lip. I really don’t like liquid lips that have a watery consistency as they are just harder to apply. I find the product goes all over if it’s a thinner consistency. Anyway, these are creamy and moisturizing on the lip and I just love the way they feel. They do dry down to a matte finish, but not the overly drying matte finish feel which I hate; these liquid lips leave your lips feeling smooth.

As for it being long-lasting, it definitely is! I don’t find that it transfers onto anything, even when eating. It’s definitely not similar to a stain though; it’s easy to wipe off with make-up remover.

From left to right: Wink, Slay (my favorite), Weekend, Friendship, Swank

Wink: A “perfect pink nude”, just all around a really great color to wear every day. I found this color to dry down fast.

Slay: A “dusty light mauve”, my favorite lip colors! I really love nudes with a hint of mauve, so this is my favorite out of the five. This color dried down fast, just like “Wink”.

Weekend: A “honeyed pink peach”, it’s really a unique color and I don’t have anything like it. It took a little more time to dry down.

Friendship: An “antique rose” color, which is beautiful! This is my second favorite color out of the five. This took a lot longer to dry down.

Swank: A “raisin” color, it’s darker than what I typically wear but I do enjoy it on occasion when I want a darker lip! It took the longest to dry down, possibly because it’s so dark?

I find this liquid lipstick to be one of my favorite liquid lip formulas because they have all aspects of a lipstick I want to wear; creamy, matte, long lasting, and easy to apply. What do you think of these liquid lips?

I love the BareMinerals brand for make-up! My all time favorite lipgloss from them is Moxie! I actually just wrote a post about my make-up routine and lots of my products are BareMinerals, including the lipstick! Great post! Thx for sharing!
